"Start with all the fork foot pinch bolts and axle nuts loose. Tighten up just the bike's right side pinch bolts so they are snug enough to hold the axle. There's no need to torque them yet."
"Then, with the bike's left side pinch bolts still loose, torque the axle to you bike's specs. You'll find this torque value in the service manual. Then, tighten up the bike's left side pinch bolts to hold the axle."
"Next loosen up the bike's right-side pinch bolts, again put the wheel against your leg and hold it with your hand, grab the handlebar and run your suspension through the stroke about four or five times. Usually you'll see the axle inset against the lug just a little bit."
"Now torque all the pinch bolts to the manufacturer's specs. Overtightening any of the front end bolts can transmit a harsh feedback to the rider's hands and negatively affect forck action."
